Omorovicza Vitamin C Review

You know an ingredient has reached superstar status when just about every skincare brand has their own take on it. Vitamin C is undoubtedly the most hyped ingredient on the market right now and the Hungarian luxury skincare brand Omorovicza has just launched their own vitamin C serum called the Daily Vitamin C ($200 CAD for 30 ml). A lightweight serum designed to brighten and protect, Daily Vitamin C also promises a more youthful and luminous complexion by stimulating collagen production. I've got a full review of the product to share with you today. To read on, click......
Housed in a frosted 30 ml bottle, the Omorovicza Daily Vitamin C is equipped with a twist to reveal dropper dispenser. I'm not sure if I got a defected packaging but there were a couple issues with the dropper. Firstly, the white rubber gasket under the lid became loose during transit/storage, thereby allowing some serum to leak and crust all over the opening of the jar. Secondly, a small amount of serum appears to have congealed inside the dropper. Although it's not completely occluded, the dropper doesn't pick up as much product as it normally would. Again, these totally could be a one-off issue with my bottle but as this is a pricey $200 serum, it is a little less forgivable.
Now let's move onto the formulation! With a base of mineral-rich Hungarian Thermal Water, the Daily Vitamin C is formulated with a highly stable form of vitamin C (sodium ascorbyl phosphate) that stimulates collagen production and protects against environmental stressors. With a runny milky texture, the serum also contains a complex of watercress extract, zinc, and niacinamide to reduce melanin production. Additionally, kiwi extract (also rich in vitamin C) and hyaluronic acid are added to further brighten and hydrate. Alcohol is the fifth ingredient on the list but since it's lower than Vitamin C, I'm guessing that there's actually not that much of it to have a significant impact.
The serum spreads really nicely on the skin and I like how it's lightweight yet rich enough to provide a lot of hydration. The product doesn't leave behind a tight or sticky feeling and for someone like me who has oily/combination skin, it provides enough hydration that I don't really need to use a moisturizer in the day time.
Now that I've tried a good number of vitamin C serums and moisturizers, I've noticed that the majority of them provides a similar level of brightening effect so it really comes down to texture, finish, and hydration when comparing them with each other. The Omorovicza Daily Vitamin C has a really lightweight and quick-absorbing formulation that also provides a big boost of hydration, so it's a win in my book. However, given that it is up to three to four times the cost of other vitamin C serums on the market, it's hard for me to give it a strong recommendation. If you are new to vitamin C products and are looking for an affordable starter version, this may not be the best choice. However, if you have the budget and want something on the luxury end, then the Omorovicza Daily Vitamin C is a worthy investment.
